History
The Aiea Orchid Club is a non-profit organization founded in 1953 by local orchid lovers. We are located on the island of Oʻahu in the city of Aiea. We aim to promote and support the education and culture of orchids of all kinds for our members.
Since our inception, meetings have been held at the Aiea Elementary School, where, over the decades, we have forged a close relationship with the school and community. The club supports student programs through club donations, fundraisers, and our annual school supply drive.
Who We Are
The founders chose the word “Club” rather than “Society” to better reflect the spirit of the Aiea Orchid Club—a down-to-earth space where everyone is friendly and welcoming, from first-time growers to longtime enthusiasts.
What We Do
Throughout the year, the club engages in many activities to disseminate information and increase knowledge of orchids for our club members. We do this by hosting events, including but not limited to: thought-provoking lectures, hands-on demonstrations, exhibitions, displays, and newsletters.
Mission Statement
To promote and support the culture of orchids of all kinds.
